City Of Greensboro LGBTQ, Spoils System Emphases Revealed

A couple of recent items caught my attention about our beloved city of Greensboro.

Our city government has been LGBTQ-friendly at least since the time of former Mayor Keith Holliday two decades ago. However, we learn that the city is recruiting for its LGBTQ Task Force; and also that its police department put out a social media message celebrating Pride Month. In response to this message, the Libs of TikTok– which has a national social media presence– highlighted the fact that our crime rate is way above the national average. It seems incongruous that our Police Department would be primarily concerned about Pride Month when it should be putting all its energies to reducing crime.

Another story indicates that the city’s Community Safety Director resigned after being pressured by City Council members Allen, Black, Crawford and Parker to fund certain community organizations and individuals. It should be noted that all four were elected last November and represent the heightened Marxist activist presence on the council.

But it turns out their focus is the same we have seen in the past– implementing a spoils system to reward certain favored parties. We can have no confidence that ANY of these people would do what is needed to heighten public safety and protect the public– and that includes the lady who resigned.
