Roy Cooper’s Zest For Green Energy Falls Flat

There was a massive incentive deal for VinFast to build a massive electric vehicle plant in Chatham County. The deal fell through; and it is unclear whether taxpayers will be able to recover any lost monies.

VinFast makes horrible cars, as the Breitbart article reporting this story documents. Roy Cooper was a major enthusiast for this proposal because it fit with his green energy vision.

Private property was taken to build a highway to accommodate this plant. That included taking a local Baptist church.

This was a major boondoggle on Cooper’s part. It resulted in the loss of incentives monies and also property owners losing their property. The general public needs to know about it.

  1. I watch the news closely but was not aware of VinFast and its wasteful, politically motivated deal that squandered time and money nor of Cooper’s role in it. Yes, the voters should be informed of this treachery.

    1. Because this was not affecting the Triad, Fred, it was not on our radar screen as much. But it is a classic example of how his rabid ideological leftism cost North Carolina residents dearly, one way or another.
