An interesting article at the North State Journal reveals that the massive loan for the American Hebrew Academy (AHA) campus at Jefferson Rd. and Hobbs Rd. has been transferred from one Chinese company to a couple of other Chinese companies (HT: Carolina Plott Hound). Recall this facility is planned to be used for illegal immigrants.
What are the implications of these Chinese companies holding the loans? They are the effective owners of the facility and the land. It does not truly belong, free and clear, to the corporation that previously held it until the loan is paid off.
And what about these Chinese companies? In China, “private” companies are all necessarily linked to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). They cannot exist otherwise. The people who control the American Hebrew Academy got their financing from the CCP.
We therefore have the Chinese Communist Party effectively owning that facility.

At the time that the Puxin loan came through, eight of the school’s board members left with the top positions on the board filled by three individuals; Ni Zhang, Shong Gao, and Wei Yang.
Should we feel good about all of this?

You are right, Fred. It is a beautiful campus but it has enormous amounts of baggage.
This is a local manifestation of the progressive/socialist/secular Jewish community’s enthrallment with the Chinese communists. In fact, that enthrallment explains a lot that has happened over the last 75 years or so.
