The incumbent socialist Justice Anita Earls is leading in the polls by a fairly wide margin. Sarah Stevens, a former GOP state legislator, is challenging her.
Stevens is being subjected to an ugly mail and television ad campaign. These have taken cheap shots at her by trying to make it seem that she protects sexual predators and foster care abusers. A closer understanding of the facts almost certainly will demonstrate otherwise.
The mail campaign is funded by a dark money group called North Carolina Families First. Its funding is from a Washington DC PAC, the teachers’ union and yet another dark money group.
Earls can be relied upon to rule the wrong way on nearly every issue of importance. Stevens’ profile at the NC Values Coalition iVoterGuide is not perfect, but it improves significantly upon Earls.
It would be good to take this seat away from the socialists. Stevens is the better choice.

I don’t know, Fred. But I can tell you that I see numerous TV ads for Earls that are negative ads against Stevens. And they make Stevens look like a monster. But I see no ads for Stevens and against Earls.
