The Birthright Citizenship Decision

In short, it is a bloodbath for real Americans. The six justices got it utterly and completely wrong. The enormity of this ruling cannot be overstated.

Where do we go from here?

It will not be possible to pass a law or a constitutional amendment to fix this situation, unfortunately. The country is too divided; and there are too many socialists and establishment Republicans in office.

Trump, simply put, needs to enact an immigration moratorium. We need to stop the flow of legal immigrants so that we can absorb and assimilate the enormous crush of recent legal immigrants, those who have come here illegally, and those anchor babies who rightfully should not enjoy citizenship.

And yes, we need to have mass deportations of those who can be deported.

The fact that three Republican-appointed justices– and two Trump-appointed justices– were part of this decision rubs salt in the wound. We need to go back to the drawing board with regard to how we identify judicial nominees because recent approaches have failed too often. The Federalist Society has dropped the ball.

Walker Wildmon of American Family Action had a good article recently on the matter of identifying good judicial nominees. The conversation must begin immediately. Here is part of what Wildmon wrote:

We cannot allow personal assurances or “Trust me” endorsements to substitute for evidence again. Every recommendation must be supported by research. If the research does not exist, or if it does not demonstrate a consistent, long-term commitment to original meaning and judicial restraint, the name should be set aside — no matter who offers it.

    1. They are all disappointments, J. Sobran. The three dissenting justices had the merits on their side. We really need to challenge all our previous assumptions about nominating judges and handling immigration.
