Rep. Brandon Gill is spot on. It is simple, the GOP is attempting to give us something we didn’t vote , in fact the opposite. These lobbyists seemingly are more powerful when pushing amnesty ( cheap labor ), than the American voters.
Yes, Fred, and in fact that is a phenomenon that touches other areas– not just amnesty for illegals. It explains in part why so little has been accomplished in Congress since Trump ascended to the presidency last January.
One of the Ivy League schools did an in-depth study demonstrating that there was absolutely no relationship between what polls indicated a majority wanted and the legislation that was passed through Congress. Not almost no relationship. No relationship!
But the illusion of “democracy” helps our corrupt oligarchy keep its grip firm. It cons people into thinking they have given their imprimatur to all the evil the govt does with their money. From mandating people take toxic vaccines to seducing troubled children into gender dysphoria to killing millions of innocent civilians in the Middle East (it’s okay, they are Arabs–though a good few are Christian Arabs). Not that we voted for any of that…but we voted…
I agree, J. Sobran, that the actions of Congress do not reflect the will of the people. I am hoping this particular amnesty bill won’t get anywhere, however.
