Guilford Dems Choose White Female For Brockman’s “Black Seat”

According to the Rhino Times, Skip Alston is very unhappy about this development that occurred in spite of his de facto control of the county’s democratic socialist party.

When the county party chose the white female over several black candidates in a minority-majority district, it was asking for trouble. You create certain expectations, and those same expectations come back to bite you.

Forgive me if I experience any vicarious enjoyment of their predicament.

  1. “A perturbed Alston told the Rhino Times just hours after Cook’s selection that the district was drawn years ago as a Black “opportunity” district, and, in his view, it has functioned that way politically ever since.”

    Translation:
“We gerrymandered that district to give us an unfair advantage and now you want to take it away!”

    1. Great insight, JayCee. Alston is proudly adorned by the slime of entitlement.

The bigger theme is that they all want this seat to be used to more consistently vote the socialist party line in the NC House. I have little doubt Alston will start a huge battle to get this seat back for his race. But of course, a black Republican would never be allowed.

  2. Now the newly appointed representative is free on occasion to vote with the GOP just as Brockman did at times.
