The news yesterday that Rep. Cecil Brockman from Guilford County is being jailed was certainly stunning. But perhaps it should not have been.
About a decade ago, the local media revealed warmly and approvingly that Brockman is a member of the LGBTQ community– specifically, that he was bisexual. It was considered a major advancement that one of these would be representing part of our county in the General Assembly.
The media reports yesterday did not specify whether Brockman’s victim(s) were male or female; but I heard one local radio station report today that the victim was a female.
This entire episode leads me to recall some blog conversations 15-20 years ago. I remember specifically making the point that the LGBTQ community has a much higher rate of pedophilia than the heterosexual community. That point was met with outrage on the part of the local left who made the accusation that homosexuality was being conflated with pedophilia. That is typical of the rhetorical bullying and trickery that characterizes their online discussions.
But in fact, it is true. The statistics don’t lie. Pedophilia occurs at much higher rates in those sectors of the population. The mainstream media won’t report that fact or educate the public on that point because their project has been to celebrate and affirm the LGBTQ crowd.
This alleged offense is part of a long-established pattern within the LGBTQ community.
I don’t wish Mr. Brockman ill. But he should resign. If he is found not guilty, then that is a different story. Tough call.
The reports today, Fred, are that he was living with this girl in Atlanta while serving in the NC state legislature. When he was missing votes, he claimed mental illness. The voters in his district got precisely what they voted for…
