Carolina Journal reports that the poverty rate in the state of North Carolina steadily declined from the period of 2013 through 2023.
This is being attributed in large part to the fact that taxes had been cut by Republicans in Raleigh after they took over the General Assembly with the 2010 elections. I believe that must have played at least a partial role.
We have to celebrate wins when they occur. Alleviating poverty is a good thing.
