The US AID wastefulness is staggering.
But it’s only ONE department of the government, spending less than 1% of the gov’t budget.
Imagine how wasteful the rest of the system is.
I think we’ll soon find out.
Some comments are being floated that we can save hundreds of billions in just fraud each year, up to a half trillion, JayCee. Will be interesting to see how this unfolds. But then there is the question of how much Trump can cut without Congressional authorization.
David Stockman has suggested that Trump should invite Congress to not increase the debt limit, which would then allow Trump to decide what is funded from the tax money coming in. Or veto any debt limit not connected to strong spending cuts.
Those are both good ideas, Healey. This will be a test for both Trump and the GOP members of Congress.
Speaking of Nigeria. It is a s–t hole country. $36,000,000.00 ! Good grief.

It appears UNC has some explaining to do, Fred. I hope the GOP state legislature demands some explanations about this and Baric’s gain-of-function viral research. We need some oversight hearings.
Perhaps UNC was just a willing dispersal agent to facilitate USAID’s funding of socialism around the world.
USAID: “Here’s $100 million, but you gotta send it to here, here, and here.”
UNC: “But, but…we don’t have any programs in those places.”
USAID: “Just take a little off the top for your efforts. We got plenty.”
UNC: “OK!”
That very well might have been how it went, JayCee. If there were somehow grant applications, the public ought to be able to see them.
