  1. Thanks to Matt Walsh for exposing the Great American myth surrounding the American Indians relocation to Oklahoma. This rewrite of our history deserves not to stand.

  2. Thanks to Matt Walsh for tackling this. The book I read on it (by a journalist, alas) focused on the disputes between the 2 factions of Cherokee and implied that the bad parts of the trip west had to do with one of the factions (Ross’) making absolutely no preparations to go–kind of adopting a nihilistic attitude–though neither side quit taking govt money. They took a lot of taxpayer money before the trip…and ever since.

It was definitely more complicated than Walsh’s preview. The State of Georgia WAS forceful and abusive, enfranchising their “Fortunate Ones” at the expense of Cherokees, many of whom had created productive farms and were adopting American ways.

Looking forward to Walsh’s full take. After reading the pretty extensive book on it, I was left with a number of logical questions that the author never asked or answered.
