Signs From The New Greensboro City Council

The first meeting for the new Marxist contingent on the city council took place Monday night. The News and Record has a report that provides some early indications of future directions.

One of these indications is that Denise Turner Roth is being anointed as the heir apparent. She was unanimously elected Mayor Pro Tem. She used to be city manager years ago, and appears– at least on the surface– more moderate than some of the others.

Note this passage from the article:

Four of those new officials – at-large Councilman Irving Allen, District 1 Councilwoman Crystal Black, District 2 Councilwoman Cecile Crawford and District 3 Councilwoman April Parker – have been prominent community activists known for advocating on issues ranging from affordable housing and tenant rights to policing reforms.

Note the strategic use of the word “activist”. Our local corrupt media chooses to use this benign-sounding term instead of more accurately characterizing them as Marxists.

Check this out:

(Crystal) Black, who defeated District 1 Councilwoman Sharon Hightower while running a campaign that emphasized the need for more action to address disparities in East and Southeast Greensboro, said that she wanted to make good on her commitment to voters.

Hmmm… How do you fix “disparities”?

But then there is Adam Marshall, who represents leafy, suburban-style District 4:

We’ve seen some real successes, and we are set up to experience so many more. And we must make sure that those successes are felt across all of our communities and across all of our neighborhoods,” Marshall said.

That sounds nice. But how, Mr. Marshall, do you make these successes felt across all communities and neighborhoods? How precisely do you do that? The devil is in the details.

This new council is packed with socialists. Some are more Marxist than others. But we are in for quite a ride.

  1. I fear their plans involve increasing taxes to move money from the productive citizens to the non-productive ones.
    Translation: Redistribution of wealth.
