Property Tax Crusader Mike Perdue Running For County Commissioner

The unexpected withdrawal of a Republican candidate for the Guilford Board of County Commissioners led to the selection of a replacement. His name is Mike Perdue.

It turns out that he was one of the leaders of the efforts to show up at meetings and express objections to property tax increases over the last several months. The Rhino Times has the details.

One interesting factoid about this gentleman is that he worked for the city of Greensboro managing bond construction projects for the Coliseum complex. Those projects ironically have been a driver of tax increases for Greensboro homeowners.

The Board of County Commissioners needs more hardline fiscal conservatives. I hope Perdue could turn out to be that kind of commissioner.

  1. I also hope for a breath of fresh air for a win and that, if elected , he will be the kind of leader the county needs. He is vying for the seat of Kay Cashion a Democrat who was a very nice lady despite being a Democrat.
