Lynch lost his race against Lindsey Graham during the primary, and tried to run in the special election. This endorsement will help Norman to some extent.
However, Russell Fry and Mark Sanford have not yet announced whether they will endorse Norman or Graham’s sister– at least to my knowledge. Both secured more votes in the primary than Lynch.
Nancy Mace has endorsed Norman. I am unaware of any other “heavy hitters” in SC politics who have made an endorsement. Of course, the governor initially appointed Graham’s sister.
Norman would be the most conservative SC senator since Jim DeMint and Strom Thurmond.
