1. An element facilitating Islam and Marxism joining hands briefly at least is that they are both anti-individual. Your life belongs to someone other than you, and doesn’t matter for its own sake. There’s a bit of that in Christianity [Catholicism more?] too, which is why we get so much crap out of the mouths of Popes, why Billy Graham could cozy up to Communists.

   1. That’s a great point, J. Sobran, that both Islam and Marxism are anti-individual. Perhaps that is the common thread, because it is difficult to see others between them…

2. I was at the American embassy in Tehran, Iran in 1978 as part of my duties as a DEA Agent.

   A year later, November 8 1979, the American Embassy was stormed by militant Iranian students who took in 52 US citizens who were held hostage for 444 days.

   The beginning of the 47 year revolution .

   In casual contact with one the street Iranians I had a sense that they hated Americans.

   On November 21, 1979, the Embassy of the United States in Islamabad was attacked and burned down by a crowd of over 1,000 Pakistani rioters who had been inspired by the Iran hostage crisis. I was in Islamabad, Pakistan in 1981. The Embassy was in temporary quarters.

      Did not remember about the embassy in Pakistan.
