You and I are on total opposite sides of the ideological spectrum, but I do admire the fact that you’re willing to call bull**** when you see it. Mass corruption reigns at the top on both sides of the aisle.
It’s almost inexplicable, Allison. Is this mere cronyism, or do they really want to shut out those who will better represent the party base?
“Mass corruption reigns at the top on both sides of the aisle.” It encourages me, Allison, that people across the spectrum are perceiving this. We are ruled by the Epstein class, with the Democrat and Republican Parties being their senior and junior marketing depts. Massive spending, war, and lies prevail regardless of how you vote.
Having said that, I think Paxton is a good man and would welcome his tilting at the Swamp windmill, FWIW.
J. Sobran, both you and Allison are correct to the extent that the huge amounts of campaign money flowing through the system are likely somehow indicative of corruption. Here is the question: what did the donors or the GOPe believe Cornyn was delivering that Paxton would not deliver? Or is it the perception that Cornyn would more likely land a victory in the GOP column?
Cornyn’s biggest donor in this cycle by far is American Israel Public Affairs Cmte. They obviously want the US to continue being Israel’s bitch. They could care less about Republican vs. Dem.

Interesting. A good portion of the campaign monies, J. Sobran, are directed by the Senate Republican leadership, as you know. It appears there are likely all kinds of ulterior motives.
I believe the polls show that Paxton is pulling away. I don’t think an intraparty contest should fracture peace in the GOP. Save the nastygrams for the Dems.
I think you’re right about the polls, Fred. This fellow was pretty rough on the establishment GOP, Fred, although the question is whether they truly want to win and to deliver for the party base.
