Readers likely recall over the last decade the vicious, violent left defacing and taking down Confederate monuments throughout the South. Moreover, leftist local units of government arranged the removal of others monuments prominently placed within towns and cities.
We learn from the Abbeville Institute blog that a group of citizens in Davidson County decided to take action. They purchased some land and set up a memorial park near Denton to relocate some of these monuments. It is called the Valor Memorial Park.
Visitors are welcome. In addition, the park has monthly fundraisers during which you can visit and enjoy a dinner with chicken or ribs that can be pre-ordered.
The park has monuments from Lexington, NC and from Winston-Salem. I plan to visit.
That is great news. Enjoy your visit, TC.

Enjoyed the video, Fred. Had never heard that one!
Yes, it will be good to visit. I think these folks need to be encouraged who are sacrificing to make this happen.
Thanks for highlighting this. Kudos to those Davidson Co. folks.
Yes, that was quite a commitment they made, J. Sobran. It’s pretty admirable– standing up for one’s heritage and one’s family legacy.
TC, I forwarded this story to the Archivist @ the UDC in Richmond:
This was her response:
” It is my understanding that there is more to this story than the author knows…”
Interesting, Fred. I wonder what she knows that we don’t!
