Washington Square Park

My undergraduate work was at NYU. I commuted there from Staten Island.

Washington Square Park is the school’s “campus”. I used to occasionally sit on a bench and study there between classes when the weather permitted. But everyone walked through the park, at least to some extent. Interestingly enough, obvious unsavory activities were uncommon during daylight hours.

Readers might recall that police officers were assaulted there with ice thrown at them during a recent snow event.

Look at the video below to see what took place this morning at 8:45 AM. I am not sure why all these men are not at work; nor do I know how so many of them landed in New York during recent years. But this is truly an indication that we have a problem:

  1. Holy smoke. That scene is hard to understand. I guess they got a 30 minute break from work to perform their little street theater.
