Sports Betting: Not Worth The Cost

An article at the WRAL website discusses the fact that North Carolina residents have spent over $13 billion on sports betting since it was legalized in our state two years ago. The state has picked up $250 million from taxes and fees associated with sports betting.

There is an enormous personal and societal cost associated with gambling addiction. The state ought not be facilitating it. This was a dark day for the Raleigh Republicans when they instigated and approved online gambling.
