  1. Interesting report. As I watch this play out I am hopeful that the bitter enders will throw down their arms. Then a new West friendly leader can restore common sense to his people.

  2. A decent compressed history. I believe that Persia changed their name to Iran in the 1930’s in part as a protest of the brutal way the British Empire (described as a “democracy” by lovers of WWII) treated them. A friendly gesture towards British opponent Germany… fellow Ariyans?

Before WWII, democratic Britain frequently bombed tribes in their colonial empire when the tribes weren’t sufficiently obedient. Kind of like “democratic” US bombing disobedient Iran currently. When someone says the US is “democratic” or that it is a “Christian nation”, it seems like a severely blasphemous way to treat the English language.

    1. I think, J. Sobran, we need to gain insight from this history so that we are not exacerbating and compounding upon all that happened in the past. This week has been a setback in that regard. I hope it works out in the end somehow.
