We have all witnessed what he describes, in vivid detail:

Not exactly disagreeing with this fellow, but he doesn’t point to any solution. More spending on mental health treatment might well make things worse.
It is important to recognize the sine qua non of this situation: government that has massively expanded beyond its rightful sphere &/ sphere of competence. It is in the belly of government that deeply dishonest, narcissistic incompetents like Fauci and Biden spent 40+ years and rose like cream to the top. Exxon or Apple would have fired them their first month.
The Bushes, Clintons, Obamas, Biden, and Trump are extraordinarily dishonest people (tho Trump keeps some promises). 6 out of 6…what a coincidence! The cancerous, unaccountable EU bureaucracy produces similar types.
I suppose, J. Sobran, the hurdles and “qualifications” for rising to the top make it more certain we will get dishonest people, and less likely we will get honest people.
No man should be in public office who can’t make more money in private life.
THOMAS DEWEY
If I had been elected president in 1948, history would be vastly different. I believe we would have stemmed the growth of Big Government, which had begun with the New Deal and culminated with the Great Society.
Strom Thurmond
That’s a good point about doing well in the private sector, Fred. That ought to be a prerequisite.
Ole’ Strom would, indeed, have changed the trajectory.
