Local Media Celebrating Jesse Jackson’s Greensboro Ties

I have seen at least three local media organizations today running articles about the death of Jesse Jackson. Each breathlessly reminded readers that he was a NC A&T graduate.

I don’t think this is anything to celebrate. Jackson’s life was thoroughly dishonorable.

Consider the following:

  1. He engaged in a four-year extramarital affair. He cheated on his wife for years.
  2. He was a socialist.
  3. Racial identity politics was his schtick.
  4. His organization would shake down corporations for money with the not-so-implicit threat they would be stigmatized prominently if they failed to comply.
  5. He was initially pro-life, but then flip-flopped and became pro-abortion.

The local media organizations will not tell the full story. They are too busy celebrating the fact that he went to A&T; but ignore the fact that he was a fake “reverend” who did terrible things.

  1. Jackson participated in the early 1960’s race riots in Greensboro and was jailed for it.
He practiced racial extortion and banked millions from it.
I lived in Greensboro and saw it firsthand.

    No admiration from me.

Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the Muslim terrorist who engineered the 9/11 attacks, was also an A&T graduate.

    1. I also say today that Jesse Jackson was involved in gang activities in Chicago during his early years, Jaycee. Racial extortion is a great description of his approach. I didn’t know about his participation in race riots here and being put in jail because of it. Somehow, I doubt the local media will be emphasizing these parts of the story.

    1. Fred, I remember hearing about the fact that, when he worked at a restaurant as a young man, he would spit in the food of white customers. Regardless of what the politicians say about him, he was pretty awful.
