The sexual abuse “crisis” in the Southern Baptist Convention was largely a sham; and the response to it was a spectacular failure. Indeed, it was a fiasco. It is stated to have cost nearly $12 million Cooperative Program dollars.

I don’t think you are missing anything, Fred. I saw an estimate yesterday that the damages to the SBC might be in the range of $15 million, not $12 million.
The critical question is whether this woman–26 years old when the relationship began– possessed agency when she decided to participate in this affair. Obviously, she did.
