How To Reverse The Radicalization of Young Women

The cultural and political posture adopted by young women is potentially a civilizational crisis. While young men are increasingly turning to the church and to conservatism, young women are utterly radicalized. They increasingly reject marriage and motherhood. They usually reject biblical Christianity. And they vote for socialists overwhelmingly.

David Mitzenbacher has a great article addressing this problem. Here are some excerpts:

(I)n Virginia, Jay Jones carried women voters by twelve points in the Attorney General race, even after verified text messages surfaced in which he fantasized about the violent death of his political opponent’s children…

Tragically, the evidence shows that a similar ideological shift is occurring among young women who profess to be Christians… The divide appears across issues: young Christian women are consistently more supportive of abortion, same-sex marriage, and broader LGBTQ+ acceptance than their male peers…

Scripture warns that women are particularly vulnerable to deception and to being led astray by misplaced affections (1 Tim. 2:142 Tim. 3:6–7Gen. 3:1–6; see also Titus 2:3–51 Pet. 3:1–6). When detached from the authority of Scripture and the goodness of the created order, empathy becomes a solvent of truth.

Bad actors of both genders have discovered that the natural strengths of women can be co-opted and hijacked for nefarious purposes…

Theological liberalism has often advanced through this path. From the push for women’s ordination to the normalization of homosexuality, the strategy has been to weaponize the empathy of women against the clarity of Scripture…

Mitzenbacher suggests a number of measures to deal with this problem– with pastors, with husbands, with fathers, with older women, with young women themselves and with the church. Check out the article to see his recommendations.

  1. Mitzenbacher’s essay does provide sensible solutions , primarily the Church and its shepherds.

In his observation I found encouragement : ” obedience to God’s Word is the only place true freedom can be found. The Word of God does not suppress feminine gifts; it orders them toward righteousness. A heart submitted to Christ learns to distrust fleeting emotions and cling instead to what God declares good, true, and beautiful.”

    Ora pro nobis.

    1. Fred, I think he touched on some issues that rarely get discussed. Indeed, the analogy of the third rail comes to mind. Families and churches have both dropped the ball on these matters. Of course, the educational system, mainstream media and social media are major contributors to the problem.
