Paul Newby is a great man. He has had a positive impact for the state of North Carolina so that it is governed more in alignment with Godly, constitutional principles.
The Carolina Plott Hound reports that he has been the object of a hit piece prepared by the left wing online news outlet ProPublica. The article magnifies the impact he has had; and suggests that is inappropriate because he has a Christian worldview.
There should be no confusion that Newby is a constitutional conservative. He is also a Christian conservative. According to the corrupt media/left complex, it is impermissible for a Christian to bring his worldview to the public square, or to deliver outcomes consistent with a Christian worldview.
But Newby rules according to the Constitution– both federal and state– and also according to the rule of law. He is doing nothing inappropriate. It is the left that contorts and twists the Constitution to make it conform to their policy objectives.

I first met Paul Newby when he was an AUSA in Raleigh. I saw him again in 2004 at a small gathering in Greensboro when he was running for a seat on the NC Supreme Court. I was impressed by his judicial manner and intellect. He won that race and has gone on to have a distinguished career on the Court. Former Governor Pat McCrory used these words to describe Newby ” “He’s a man of deep traditional conservative values,” He is also a devout Christian.
Paul Martin Newby is a gift to NC from the Lord.
I agree, Fred. It only makes sense that the amoral, lefty media would want to attack him.
He is an impressive man. I have heard him speak twice; and can state without equivocation that there is much substance behind his judicial philosophy.
