Danny Akin, the president of the Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, announced his retirement yesterday.
If the same kind of crowd that hired him and kept him employed will be selecting his replacement, we have no reason to believe there will be an improvement.
Check out the below video from the past in which he speaks about matters related to race, and also the other Twitter posts. They explain why we need to be wary of Southeastern Seminary graduates:
The praise for Danny Akin’s “conservative” record today has been downright Orwellian

You know we can watch this video with our own eyes, right?
“The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command”

To be a leader in the SBC, you have to pretend like this isn't true, even though you know that it is. Being fake like that is part of the price to play until something changes. https://t.co/L124kJ0dXu

If Greear is thankful for your leadership and lauds your "faithfulness," something is very very wrong with your faith. Danny Akin – and the trustee board – bear the responsibility permitting Climate Marxism, CRT/I, Feminist Egalitarianism, and Liberation Theology at SEBTS. pic.twitter.com/f48zzVJtqi

The SEBTS should be very wary of J. B. Greear’s endorsement of any new President.
It’s interesting, Fred, that Southeastern was a fairly respected institution within Southern Baptist life for many years. I am not sure I see a pathway right now to right the ship, but we shall see.
