We have discussed previously the phenomenon of state GOP parties in the South being controlled by the GOP establishment; and of the highest level Republican politicians in the South tending to be part of that same GOP establishment.
Georgia is perhaps the worst. A former Republican lieutenant governor from that state just switched parties to become a Democrat. This happens even as most changes in political party during the recent past have been in the opposite direction:
There’s a great deal of Uniparty pervading the Republican Party. Mike Johnson had to recess the House [but in funky way that prevents Trump from making recess appointments] before the House could vote for Epstein evidence–he was Mossad–to be revealed, so that he could go to Israel…which seems to be the district he really represents (rather than the one in Louisiana that elected him).
Johnson has definitely been a disappointment, J. Sobran. In some respects, however, he is a reflection of the entire GOP caucus in the House.
I am not worried about the GOP in the South.
In fact I like this:

It will be interesting to see, Fred, what the GOP primaries produce for the US Senate seats in contention in the South next year. We can’t get our hopes up too high…
