The News and Record has a big article about a small protest in downtown Greensboro in which several liberal/ progressive/ socialist clergy participated.
Among those represented were a Lutheran pastor; a female Unitarian minister; and also a minister from a local black church.
I wonder what their theology is– if any. Surely, it is not based on biblical principles. Of course, the Unitarians are universalist, and do not even pretend to affirm scripture.
But another issue is that we never see conservative clergy speaking out in this manner. That creates a vacuum the local religious left is eager to fill.
They were protesting the arrest of criminals by the police.
That we pay the police to arrest criminals seems to have escaped them.
The attorney for the criminal apparently rescheduled his court date because he knew his client was committing a crime and might be arrested if he showed up at court.
Pretty incredible, Jaycee. These “clergy” clearly don’t have enough to do. Being idle creates mischief. They need some good, strenuous physical work.
But there is obviously ideological mischief also.
Wow , Huge protest worthy of TV and Newspaper coverage .. NOT !
It could have been held in a phone booth.
Ditto to what JayCee said.
Fred, you made me laugh with the phone booth comparison.
The News and Record tries SO hard to assist the progressive/ socialist viewpoint…
