When Russell Moore was a leader within the Southern Baptist Convention, a court action was supported to enable an Islamic mosque to be built. When he was asked about this at the annual meeting by a concerned pastor, he responded. Check out his faulty reasoning, and the shoddy manner he treated that pastor:
The leader of that effort was Russell Moore. You can watch him dunking on faithful “Billy Baptist” Jon Wofford here.

And who runs the @ERLC now? Moore’s committed disciple: Brent Leatherwood.
Nothing has changed. But we can make it change. https://t.co/pHPyaNccip pic.twitter.com/87nGM9nKj0
I am a tolerant person but this is going too far.
I don’t see any Muslims helping build Baptist churches
Absolutely right, Fred.
And this is particularly stupid of Moore, who fortunately no longer holds his previous position. The lectures I had posted last week made clear that the founders’ initial conception of religious liberty was understood to require toleration of the various Christian denominations and churches– NOT non-Christian religions.
