  1. Local reparations programs — in about a dozen cities and the state of California — have renewed hopes for an eventual national policy to compensate for slavery. But after decades of lobbying and three years of a national reckoning over race, Americans overall remain strongly opposed to the idea.

The Pew Research Center, find about three-quarters or more of white adults oppose reparations, and so do a majority of Latinos and Asian Americans. A large majority of Black Americans support them. There’s also more support among younger people and a sharp political divide, with overwhelming opposition from Republicans and conservatives.

We’re all immigrants at some point, whether it was voluntary or forced. And nobody needs a handout anymore. Everybody, you know, pulls themselves up by their own bootstraps and works for a living and makes their way in this world.

    1. I hope they would, Fred.

Reparations is a profoundly stupid idea, but that does not necessarily prevent its adoption. The voting habits and apathy of the general population assure that we elect socialists and enact socialist initiatives.

  2. A voice of reason.

The richest blacks on the planet are black Americans. And not by just a little; they are remarkably richer than black Africans. If those wanting to use mob-rule to take from people who earn to give to a special group have their way, justice might suggest the reparations go in the opposite direction…just kidding.
