Ivermectin, Vaccine Bills In Raleigh

A couple of interesting bills have been filed in Raleigh.

The first makes ivermectin over-the-counter in the state of North Carolina. Similar legislation has been enacted in at least one or two other states. This bill would make ivermectin more available when hospital systems forbid their doctors and nurse practitioners from prescribing it; and when pharmacists refuse to dispense it. Recall that this is precisely what happened during Covid.

The second makes it clear that parents can request an exemption from a given vaccine for their child when there is a conscientious objection. Previously, only religious or medical exemptions were allowed. This effectively expands the circumstances under which parents can obtain exemptions from childhood vaccines.

These are both good bills. Let’s hope they pass and are enacted into law.

  1. Thanks, Triad. I have now emailed both my representative and senator in support of parents’ right to refuse. Alas, my rep is a medical-industrial-complex bureaucrat by profession, a main proponent of the Medicaid expansion.
