Tom Homan is right to criticize the Pope.
It’s been reported that Catholic Charities in the United States collected over $2 billion in federal grants over the last four years of the Biden administration, primarily through the Department of Health and Human Services which granted about $1.93 billion for programs. Other agencies, like the Department of Homeland Security and Housing and Urban Development also doled out significant—if smaller—sums, about $156 million and $138 million, respectively. A cursory examination of how much of these funds was spent shows dubious and, possibly, improper and unlawful expenditures. Not surprisingly, Pope Francis has come to the aid of his American bishops and gave them a letter reminding them of how Moses led his people from slavery in Egypt to the Promised Land and how Jesus was forced to flee his homeland for fear of being murdered, etc. Like most Christian and some Jewish leaders, Francis cherry-picks snippets from the Bible to support his positions.
The Pope ought to concentrate, Fred, on his own area of expertise.
What is it that might be? I don’t know.
