I am all for covenant marriages. The Oberfell decision was wrongly decided. Not much can erase that but there is some good news…….
According to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention data, the divorce rate has declined from 4.0 to 2.4 per 1,000 people since 2000, meaning that fewer people are getting divorced now compared to two decades ago. In 2000, for every 1,000 people, 4 got divorced.
In a perfect world there would be no divorces but alas…..
I suppose, Fred, the people most prone to divorce are not getting married. Marriage rates are down, particularly among younger people.
But we have to savor good news whenever we can find it.
It would be great if we could have a covenant marriage law in North Carolina.
