Will The Raleigh Republicans Cut Seniors’ Property Taxes?

A problem has arisen in the state of North Carolina. The rapid rise in valuations of residential real estate has caused folks’ property taxes to increase dramatically. That is especially true in the metropolitan areas because the socialist local politicians are often averse to cutting the tax rate to compensate for the increased valuation.

They love having the extra money to spend and to waste. The city of Greensboro and Guilford County are textbook examples.

This has been particularly a problem for those on a fixed income.

A bill has been filed in the North Carolina House that would cut property taxes statewide for seniors and the disabled who have lived in their homes for at least 15 years. The property taxes would be reduced 50 percent if the homeowner earns below a certain threshold.

This is a great idea. It would disrupt the flow of money to these power-hungry local politicians, and would assist folks who need it.
