CNN had a salacious report about Mark Robinson yesterday, and the rest of the mainstream media jumped on board and reported it gleefully across the nation.
I don’t know whether the allegations are true. I know, however, that every man and women is a sinner who falls short of God’s glory.
A story such as this does not arise spontaneously; nor does it arise because of CNN’s investigative reporting. Instead, it landed in their lap. Somebody gave them the story.
Perhaps it was Josh Stein’s campaign, or folks working on its behalf, who gave the story to CNN.
But it is also possible that it was establishment Republicans who gave CNN this story. They have done that type of thing in the past in the state of North Carolina. Their zeal is to prevent conservatives from getting elected.
I also don’t know if these allegations are true, if so it is deeply disappointing.
Robinson has flatly denied that those were hi words, yet the smear has been made and it is hard to unsee.
I agree, Fred. It is really a shame, because unless circumstances change dramatically, we are at risk of having a profoundly awful individual become our governor. Of course, we have had another awful person for eight years, so this would be a continuation.
Prima facie, anything that CNN says is probably a lie. They are a concerted propaganda outfit. The benefit of the doubt should go to Robinson.
It was interesting, Healey, that Christopher Rufo yesterday was hit with allegations of having an account at one of the same sites that Robinson was alleged to have an account. He protested vehemently that it was a lie. It is entirely possible that malign actors are setting up these accounts to sabotage their opponents.
