Senator Rick Scott is, by leaps and bounds, the best choice to be the new Senate Majority Leader. He is a reasonably consistent, passionate conservative.
However, Revolver News is reporting that the establishment candidate John Cornyn from Texas has the inside track. It seems the Republicans never learn from their mistakes.
Indeed, the mistakes almost seem intentional.
Republican leadership has been routinely Uniparty/Neocon since the Bushes took over. More reflective of the desires of the CIA/National Security State than the views of the conservative voters that vote for them. Can the corrupt oligarchy be broken?
It’s tricky, Healey, as you know, because a substantial percentage of the GOP Senators are from the Bush/McConnell/establishment wing of the party. It is very difficult to “primary” them out of office. Trump has a bigger hold on the party than when he ran the first time, so it will be interesting to see to what extent he can prevail over the establishment Senators. But he would need to go to the people, as Reagan once did.
