JD Greear says we need to allow female pastors because black churches have female pastors; and we would be driving away black churches if we support the “Law Amendment” that would make female pastors impermissible within the Southern Baptist Convention. That gives you an indication of where he stands.
Behind the scenes, the North American Mission Board has been supporting female pastors. Remain mindful this entity is involved with church planting.
It will be interesting to see how the votes unfold this week. There are two conservatives running for president of the Convention— Jared Moore and David Allen– versus four moderate/ liberals.
