There was much celebration over the fact that the UNC Chapel Hill Board of Trustees defunded DEI (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion) initiatives yesterday.
That is a matter worthy of celebration. There remains much to clean up within the UNC system, but this is a good step. Credit must go to alternative media voices– at the various think tanks, the Daily Haymaker and elsewhere– calling the Republican-appointed UNC governing bodies to account.
