The Greensboro Illegal Immigrant Facility Has “No Current Activation Date”

The old, failed American Hebrew Academy at the intersection of Jefferson Rd. and Hobbs Rd. continues to sit idle. The Rhino Times had a good article recently that suggests the federal government’s plan to house illegal immigrants there has not yet been consummated. The article states, based on a recent communication from the involved federal agency:

When opened, the ICF will provide shelter for boys and girls, 13 to 17 years old, and has a capacity of up to 800 beds. There are currently no children in care at the site, and no current activation date. Opening the facility will depend on a variety of factors including capacity requirements and UC [unaccompanied children] referral rates, among other considerations.

This facility, of course, may turn out to be Congresswoman Kathy Manning’s contribution to human trafficking.

Let’s hope it never opens.

  1. Bus them to NY or Chicago. Yes let’s hope the facility is put to some other worthwhile project.
