Pipeline Politics in North Carolina

The MVP-Southgate pipeline would be a major benefit for North Carolina because it would provide a second source of natural gas. It would provide diversification and increase reliability of supply in the event disruptions take place.

But two of our socialist elected officials– Governor Roy Cooper and Congresswoman Kathy Manning– are interfering with this possibility. Manning is calling for the federal government to deny the permit required for the pipeline to operate. And Cooper’s administration was called out by a federal appeals court for its gamesmanship during the permitting process.

These two elected officials are opposing what is best for all the people of North Carolina. This might be a reflection of political corruption; but it also reflects the new war on natural gas that is being waged by the modern political left. After all, it is a carbon-based fossil fuel.

They don’t care about us.
