I couldn’t help but notice all the reports of the violent episodes in connection with Juneteenth, including a “celebration” in Illinois during which more than twenty people were shot.
Banks, the postal service and other governmental offices closed. It is yet another day those services are not available to the public. Most other people have to work; but the folks who are employed within those aforementioned domains get a paid holiday.
This is yet another holiday based upon racial identity politics.
