It occurred to me that Christian young adults and kids likely have no idea who Steve Green is. Back in the early days of contemporary Christian music– during the 1980’s and 1990’s– Green was a major figure who had a long string of pieces that enjoyed widespread popularity and recognition. You could not turn on a contemporary Christian music station without hearing his recordings. And the music then was a bit different then than it is now. He is still alive and kicking, and gives performances around the country. To appreciate the power and range of his voice, you might enjoy the following which is from a Christmas concert at First Baptist Nashville within the last several years:
