Steven Bannon has had a series of interviews with various pastors. This particular pastor– Joel Webbon– speaks on wide-ranging topics with regard to the manner in which Christians influence the political process. Webbon’s church in Texas is guided by the 1689 Baptist Confession. But one part of the interview focuses on the false belief held by many evangelical Christians that we are duty-bound to support the modern state of Israel. This belief is rooted in dispensational theology:

My mother was a bible scholar. She had a book titled ” Dispensational Truth ” by Rev. Clarence Larkin. She also studied this book . I was too young to understand what she saw in dispensationalism .
Joe,
Is this fair or inaccurate ?

The Christian Nationalist Next Door: Meet Joel Webbon
May 6, 2026
Joel Webbon is a Texas Christian nationalist pastor with 108,000 followers on X. His podcast has made him one of the more visible figures in the movement’s online wing. He runs an annual Right Response Conference that has drawn notable Christian nationalists, including Doug Wilson, Stephen Wolfe, Steve Deace, and Auron MacIntyre, to its stage. Wilson founded the denomination Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth belongs to, and Hegseth invited him to lead a Pentagon prayer service this past February. Webbon doesn’t hold a White House post. The Pentagon has not invited him to lead a prayer breakfast. He says out loud what other Christian nationalists try to keep off the record, and a lot of young men on the right are listening.
Webbon has called for “a Christian Nationalist Caesar” to protect America from what he calls “war Jews” and “gay Jews,” categories he has not defined. The Caesar Webbon wants is one who, in his words, “Constitution be dammed, just rules with an iron fist.” He has argued that God punishes nations by putting women in political office, because, as Webbon explained, “nothing hurts more.”
Webbon spent half a week last fall sitting down with Nick Fuentes for a 10-part interview series, released early this year. One episode is titled “The Inner Workings of ‘World Jewry.”
Here’s a short introduction to Webbon, in his own words.
On whether America has enough racism, from his April 24, 2026, broadcast:
“It’s so clear that America does not have a racist problem. White people in America are, if anything, I think, too trusting, too gullible, toxic empathy. So not only is racism non-existent, if anything, we could probably use a little bit more racism in America.”
On race, delivered as parenting advice on his September 8, 2025, podcast, in what Webbon called “The Talk” that white Christian parents owe their children:
“If they’re Black strangers, there is 30 times more danger. Them’s the facts.”
Parents who skip this lesson, Webbon said, are denying their kids “factual, truthful information that could save their life.”
On immigration, Webbon proposed a plan on his November 13, 2024, podcast: armed guards on a border wall who issue one warning and then open fire on anyone who doesn’t turn back. Webbon called the killing merciful.
“That will be the more merciful option.”
The reasoning drew on what Webbon called “Biblical Justice.”
On who is and isn’t allowed to run the country, from a March 2025 episode of his podcast:
“It’s not for Hindus. It’s not for Muslims. And it’s not for Jews. It belongs to Christians.”
And on women who falsely accuse men of sexual assault, from a sermon Webbon preached at his Texas church in late September 2024, titled “So The Rest May Stand In Fear”:
“You know how to end that real fast? All you have to do is publicly execute a few women who have lied.”
On how to get from here to a Christian nation, from a broadcast in late April 2026, where Webbon laid out a logistical problem: voters will not surrender democracy on their own. His solution:
“Virtuous, ambitious, masculine men have to climb the ladder of power and forcefully take away from the people that which is their detriment.”
Fred, I don’t know what publication you got that from. It was obviously one that has an interest in portraying Webbon in a negative light.
But I think, based on what I know about him, that the article is probably mostly accurate. And I probably agree with him on many of these points– not all of them, but many of them.
He is very much a Christion nationalist who harbors reality-based views on matters related to race. And much of what is represented in the article, of course, is politically incorrect.
As I said, his presentation in the video, in my opinion, is right on target.
