I had the opportunity to review the PBS documentary about New York a few days ago. It runs four hours.
As a PBS production, it certainly has more than its share of cultural and political bias. But it also contains some good information of which I was previously unaware. It focuses on the history of New York since the end of World War II.
A couple of interesting tidbits: the military plane that struck the Empire State Building, and buildings torched by owners to collect insurance money after jobs and industries left New York. The documentary producers, by the way, LOVE Mike Bloomberg.
