I think Obama consciously intended for Obamacare to fail and thereby make people beg for fully socialized medicine. For it to be a steppingstone to what he really wanted.
But I think that in collectivizing/rendering the medical complex yet more fascistic (more corporatist for those with tender ears), Obama has inadvertently rendered it into a very strong structure, with corrupt and perverse incentives that will make it very hard to reform in any direction at all. Including full socialism or direct government takeover.
A pertinent analogy: There is pretty good evidence (the unpublished Henry Ford study the best) that fully vaccinated children are much less healthy than fully unvaccinated–especially with chronic diseases, allergies, ADHD, & autism. But I defy anyone to change Big Pharma’s cash cow. RFK will not make a dent in that beast. No one will in our lifetime.

At this point, the only way I see the system changing would be when we somehow have a major crisis. That would potentially be used by the socialists to justify a direct government takeover or “Medicare For All”. And of course, the Republicans will surrender and betray.
