Darline Graham Nordone gets more votes than Ralph Norman. It was pretty close.
This runoff election demonstrates what a disgrace the Republican Party has become. Senate seats are precious. She does not even remotely belong in such a seat.
This is a massive discredit on President Trump and Governor Henry McMaster who collaborated to produce this absurd candidacy. It also reflects very poorly on the South Carolina Republican Party that allows Democrats to vote in its primaries.
How do we know who voted in this runoff? Unless there is exit polling, we won’t know, because they don’t even register by party in South Carolina.
Did the female vote tip her over the edge?
This is a bit reminiscent of when Trump endorsed Thom Tillis over Garland Tucker– a principled conservative who was able to self-fund his own campaign. Trump apparently wants jellyfish.
