That they would stonewall on this question is very instructive. The employees of the Convention and its entities are going to be more likely to vote for the more moderate/ liberal candidates and positions. When these employees vote at the annual meeting, it takes away influence from the individual churches and their messengers that are going to be necessarily more conservative and biblical:
