The Rhino Times had a good report on the county commissioners’ meeting during which large numbers of socialists turned out in support of tax increases.
Yes, some spoke out against the tax increases due to revaluations, but the socialists got out their troops.
Some of these discussions could be moot if the General Assembly passes its property tax moratorium bill that would postpone the effective date of revaluations.
But Guilford County residents have themselves to blame, in part, for this mess. THEY are the ones who elect the socialists to the Board of County Commissioners. THEY are the ones who voted in favor of the massive school bond issues that would inevitably raise our taxes.
The irony is that the socialists’ own constituencies are being harmed by the lust for increased spending.
Yes, it will be a wonderful day when the legislature passes the tax moratorium bill
which will put the brakes on the socialists big spenders.
It’s apparently going to be voted upon in the NC House pretty soon, Fred. I’m looking forward to it also. Then the socialists in Greensboro and Guilford County will need to scramble their plans.
