Life Site News has a good article dramatizing how automobile manufacturers are incorporating into new cars technologies that place drivers under surveillance. It appears that cameras are being built into the vehicles. This would, of course, enable nefarious governmental officials to step beyond their proper roles.
The New American has more information.
Recall that the US House of Representatives, despite Republican control, failed to pass a bill a couple of months ago that would eliminate the “kill switch” from new vehicles. This is a technology that would enable the government to turn our vehicles off while we are driving.
Three NC Republicans voted against this bill— Tim Moore, Greg Murphy and Chuck Edwards. These three are all moderate, establishment-type Republicans who would like the government to be able to cut off our vehicles.
The vote wasn’t even close, with ~60 Republicans joining nearly all the Dems in boosting Big Brother.
Customers should go on strike. Only buy used. See if Ford, GM etc have some sway with the Uniparty.
I know, Fred, that I have delayed/ avoided buying new cars, and this is one of the factors.
My first car was a 1967 Plymouth Valiant . It had no cameras but would frequently stop running for no apparent reason. That nightmare had its no cost kill switch. It was a real lemon but it provided my family transportation.
That reminds me, Fred, that cars that have the capability to shut off without warning can be a safety hazard. I wonder whether we will hear of such incidents after these vehicles hit the market.
