Straightforward. Federal debt and liabilities increasing at $12 trillion/year!!!!!!!!!! And our America First poser and the Congress are doing everything they can to increase spending and make the bankruptcy collapse come sooner. Bi-partisan, don’t you know.
Gosh, what would happen after all if the US didn’t fund the genocide of 80,000 Gazans? If the US taxpayer didn’t fund the destruction of the homes of 2 million Gazans? Could we handle not having that blood on our hands? And now funding a war of whim killing Iranians and Americans on a pretext more contrived than WDM that will make the world a lot poorer.
Let’s hear it for “our Democracy.”
In so many ways, J. Sobran, we are not being led well. The kids and grandkids and great-grandkids will pay the price.
The U.S. has carried debt since it was founded. In fact, the U.S. accumulated more than $75 million in debt during the Revolutionary War, and that increased to over $2 billion by the end of the Civil War in 1865. Now it is in the multi-trillions.
I understand how the system works. In fact I used to regularly invest in Treasury notes which paid good interest.
Does anyone think we will ever be debt free ?
Happy Easter, Fred.
It certainly seems unlikely we will ever be debt free, Fred– that is, unless the system breaks and we must start all over.
